History
What began as an informal gathering of a handful of students from the haor district grew into a registered association with an elected executive committee, an annual calendar of events and a welfare fund supported by alumni contributions.

SSA-SUST is the official platform of students and alumni from Sunamganj district studying at Shahjalal University of Science & Technology, Sylhet.
Mission
To make sure no student from Sunamganj feels alone at SUST — academically, financially or personally — by turning district identity into practical, everyday support.
Vision
A lifelong network where every graduate stays connected, mentors the batch behind them and gives back to the district that raised them.
Objectives
- 01Welcome and orient every new student from Sunamganj district at SUST.
- 02Maintain a verified member directory, blood donor registry and emergency desk.
- 03Run an academic resource archive and a senior-to-junior mentorship programme.
- 04Organise cultural, sporting and social events that keep the district family together.
- 05Connect current students with alumni for internships, referrals and career guidance.
- 06Support members facing financial or medical hardship through the welfare fund.
